Some instructions on how to get there can be found below:
From the Tyrrhenian coast:
Salerno - Reggio Calabria motorway.
Follow the signs for Potenza.
Continue to Metaponto along the SS 407 "Basentana" until the signs for Matera near Ferrandina Scalo.
From the Adriatic coast:
Bologna-Taranto motorway.
Exit at Bari Nord.
Continue to the industrial area and finally head for Altamura-Matera, first along the SS 96 and then the SS 99.
From Calabria and Sicily:
Reggio Calabria-Salerno motorway.
Exit at Sibari and go along the SS 106 Jonica towards Taranto.
Take the Matera exit, near Metaponto.
From Salento:
We recommend the most convenient road that goes past Taranto, and take the SS106 Jonica until the Matera exit near Metaponto.
If you want to reach us by air
Bari Palese is the closest airport which is about 50 km away.
